2016 National Signing Day: Biggest movers in the recruiting rankings

The 247Sports Composite Rankings do a good job of keeping us in check during the craziness of National Signing Day. As the drama unfolded, the rankings were shifting in real time and the final movements did a good job of showing how different coaching staffs did with the prospects holding their commitments for the last minute.
Movements up the rankings tend to indicate that the staff won most of its high-profile battles or benefited from a young prospect changing his mind, as 17- and 18-year-olds are known to do during this high-pressure process. Movements down could be a result of missing out on high-profile recruits or be an indication of staying idle -- not necessarily a bad thing -- while other teams changed their outlook with National Signing Day announcements.
Texas was the biggest winner in terms of moving up, starting the day at No. 25 and finishing just outside the top 10. The Longhorns flipped a few commits, but most importantly secured almost all of the four-star players who kept Charlie Strong and his staff in the running until the 11th hour.
Southern California made a huge jump with the commitment of five-star cornerback Jack Jones, complete with a Snoop Dogg endorsed video, to move up 13 spots late Wednesday afternoon. LSU did not slip from No. 1, but was more displaced by Alabama thanks to the commit of a couple five-star linebackers and Florida -- a team with most of its talent already on campus -- took the biggest tumble of teams in the top 50 of the 247Sports Composite Rankings, dropping six spots after losing four-star defensive lineman Shavar Manuel toFlorida State.
You can check the biggest moves up and moves down in the Top 50 of the 247Sports Composite below:
