Worcestershire make £180k surplus

Worcestershire have announced a profit for the sixth successive season but have said that continued work is required in what are "potentially changing and unpredictable times for cricket."
The county registered a surplus of £182,412 after tax for the period ending on December 31, 2015 which follows a surplus of £58,772 in 2014.
They said that the promising results have stemmed from making Worcestershire, and specifically its ground at New Road, a year-round business with conference and hospitality facilities and also the academy structure.
David Leatherdale, the outgoing chief executive who is leaving to take up the same role at the PCA, said: "The year 2015 has again shown promise and progression, both on and off the pitch, with increased income across membership, tickets and events and we are starting to see the fruits of players being brought through the clubs vibrant academy during the last five years which will only continue.
"The club is in a very different and more positive place than five years ago and a great deal of progress has been made.
"However, there is still further work to do in what are potentially changing and unpredictable times for cricket, both domestically and globally, and it is vital that we manage our cost base and margins going forward to continue to benefit from the investment made at New Road and make further investment on the pitch."
Worcestershire have made three strong overseas signings for the 2016 season with Matt Henry and Kyle Abbott sharing the summer while Mitchell Santner, the New Zealand allrounder, will also join for the NatWest T20 Blast.
