The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals in a rainy, ugly Wild Card game in Cincinnati. The game nearly spiraled out of control late in the third quarter after Ryan Shazier laid a helmet-to-helmet hit on Giovani Bernard that knocked the running back out of the game with a possible concussion. The Steelers held on, 18-16, after a pair of Bengals personal fouls set them up for an easy field goal. They'll play the Denver Broncos next. As the No. 3 seed, the Bengals were fated to play the NewEngland Patriots in the Divisional round if they won. As a result of the late game, the No. 5 seed Kansas City Chiefswill travel to Foxborough to take on the Patriots. They'll play the Denver Broncos next. The winner of Sunday's early game between the Seattle Seahawks andMinnesota Vikings won't have to wait to figure out its next opponent. The Seahawks, as the No. 6 seed, will go on to face the No. 1 seedCarolina Panthers if they win. The Vikings, as the No. 3 seed, would face the No. 2 seed Arizona Cardinals in the Divisional round. The game is expected to take place in near-zero temperatures, so thankfully for the Seahawks and Vikings they're guaranteed to be traveling to a warmer locale.
That leaves the Green Bay Packers and Washington to fill in the final spot of the Divisional bracket, taking on whoever the winner of Seahawks-Vikings isn't playing. It'll be a curious game. Washington started the season as a mediocre team, but has been trending towards a good one lately. The Packers started well, and have been trending towards medicore. The result is one of the most difficult games to predict of Wild Card weekend.
